
Alberto Bortoluzzi Fotografo
Alberto Bortoluzzi was born in Varese on 13 June 1961. His first collaborations with newspapers and magazines date back to the early 1980s. In 1987 he graduated in Geological Sciences. In 1993 he decided to devote himself entirely to photography. His works have been published by numerous Italian and foreign magazines. He has collaborated as a photographer and journalist with the daily newspaper “La Provincia” and with the Unione Industriali magazine “Varese Focus”.
In 1999 he won the photography competition organized by the Lombardy Region, “Lombardy landscape effect”, in the category “Parks, gardens, woods”. In 2000 he won the photography contest organized by the magazine PHOTO’ (Italian edition) for best cover photo. In 2002 Art Unlimited, in cooperation with the World Press Photo Foundation, selected one of his images for the creation of a postcard. In April 2004 he was selected by Agfa on www.agfanet.com as online gallery of the month. His works have been highlighted by the magazine Black & White Photography.
He received honorable mentions in two editions of the worldwide IPHONE competition: IPPAWARDS. During the 7th European Photography Festival, he won the AFI 2018 Portfolio Award. In 2019 he became a global ambassador for ILFORD and the first Italian ILFORD Master. In 2021 he was a finalist of the prestigious Hasselblad Master competition. In 2022 he won the Chatwin Prize.
His images are part of public and private collections. In addition to numerous photography books, he has published three books of travel and stories. In 2024 he won the Premio Chiara Inediti with Long Drink, “65 sips of lived life”, a collection of biographical short stories.
