High Noon
I’ve always loved guns — not for their ability to harm someone, but as objects in themselves. I find them aesthetically beautiful, and they remind me of my childhood, of those summer days spent in my grandparents’ garden, chasing each other around in epic battles.
The ones you see photographed in this project were all purchased on eBay and come from various countries around the world, as well as from Italy: India, Russia, Ukraine, England, France, Germany, and the United States.
Then the war in Ukraine broke out, followed by the conflict in Palestine, and something inside me changed. Even though they were just toys, they began to remind me of something different, and my project came to a halt. Still, traces of it remain in this work.
